I do not see you only with my eyes
because you're always in my heart
bound to me with the deepest ties
that keep us close even when apart


In some sweet place more permanent than time
you are with me in joy and love all intertwined
rewarded with the mysteries of need and grace
by give and take, with open heart and open mind


So we shall try to smile and shine
upon the world of more than two
and live within a room whose only door,
for good or ill, shall open onto you
