To Sarah On Her Twenty Second Birthday Poem by Francis Duggan

To Sarah On Her Twenty Second Birthday

So Sarah it's your birthday twenty two
And a happy birthday red haired one to you
And may all of your dreams for future years come true
And may you achieve the goals that you pursue.

Last year your birtday party was much fun
And you had come of age then twenty one
And now another year on down the line
And you have reached the gateway to your prime..

I've never told you Sarah but you strike
Me as a Maureen O Hara look alike,
Remember her that beautiful woman
Who co starred with John Wayne in 'The Quiet Man'.

And Sarah with sincerity I say
That you have got that cheerful winning way,
Your future looks bright the World is at your feet
And you remain untainted by conceit.

And to you Sarah Ladds the toasting glass we'll raise
And may this be the happiest of all of your birthdays
And for the future peace and happiness
What better for you can one wish than this?
