To Open To Bid Or To Give
'He wanted to live, so he killed himself.'
I'm not a novel writer
nor want to be one,
but that's an enticing opening,
maybe second to none
(unless it's already been done) .
Before I open bids,
I'll use it in a poem,
with a slight variation:
'The reason he wanted to die
was that he wanted to live.'
(Or would I do better to give?)
