To My Friend Diane Poem by Neil Stephens

To My Friend Diane

To just be around Diane, by God I was graced
When for a few years at school I was placed
She was outgoing, smart, and thought very fast
I learned late that she had passed

She brightened the room before she walked in
Diane sparked happiness and always made a friend
To Diane, everyone was special, from her heart did show
When she smiled all around her was a glow

When the day was long and your heart grew weary
From that smile on her face that was so cheery
She would lift your spirit up so high
You could warm your soul when she walked by

People so dynamic are a rarity, indeed
When God calls and takes them with holy speed
Her spot that occupies a space in my heart
Will be a testament to God when I depart
