To Matthew (You Suck And I Hope You Die) Poem by Rebecca Walters

To Matthew (You Suck And I Hope You Die)

Things get damaged, things get broken
Hearts get lost amidst words not yet spoken
Emotions dance and swirl next to illusions
Illusions which turn into irrational conclusions

Eyes as dark as the sky at night
Suddenly became the cause of my demise
For every time they were not in sight
I felt my heart slowly die

Silly girl, I get often told
He doesn’t deserve a heart like yours
I just look down and quietly nod
For they do not know
The magic which inside him is enclosed

Eyes fathomless as the sky at night
Whose secrets I could never expose
For no I don’t really know
The spell which upon is bestowed

The few words we ever spoke
He said eternity was not enough
He promised me all I ever wanted
He promised he’d be back to save me

He turned into a memory
He turned into a dream
He is just an illusion
Who might be a product
Of my sheer delusion
