To Life, With Love- Sonnet Poem by Joseph Anderson

To Life, With Love- Sonnet

Rating: 5.0

When I indulge myself in silent thought,
Remembering the long, departed past;
I think of all the wasted battles fought,
Then turn my mind to sweeter things that last.

To hear a newborn baby's lusty cry,
To see the golden sun give earth rebirth,
Remembered love brings forth a blissful sigh;
These are the things that gives life it's true worth.

Recalling friends whose death has dimnmed the light,
To linger in the warmth of friendship's glow;
Sleeping with conscience clear throughout the night,
These are the blessings thoughts can oft bestow.

Through all these times my thoughts are on you dear,
In heart and mind, you linger ever near.

Sounds like love has gotten brighter and not dulled by the test of time. The past in many ways determine our future. Some memories can really lift you up. A clear conscience really do bring on a good nights sleep. No cluttered thoughts during the day will bring sleep in a very special way. An excellent inspiring write.
