To Leave You Poem by Durai Muhil

To Leave You

A bid to leave you is pain,
A heart beaten to stone,
Eyes on the dreams far off,
A bid to leave you is pain,
Treading back a little on thoughts,
Days gone by happy in my arms,
You winked, a little cherub of mine,
Safely away from the world,
Come the morning, you came treading,
Happily everywhere on me to,
Wake me up for this world's day,
Sluggish to be aware of the humans,
Never though in thy looks, I saw
Dearth of mirth erupting with,
Thy antics, leaving me all alne,
Shared not with thy mom,
Not for long were you on all fours,
To take on the loving force,
For now with a clear mind,
Would you think my daughter
Still, a bid to leave you is pain.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This was written in the 90s, when I was a bachelor. But, now I feel that pain when leaving my son and daughter when I travel abroad for projects.
