To Keep You Alive Poem by Courtney Beaudry

To Keep You Alive

And if I could of kept him alive
I would've done so, not in disguise
But it's the purpose of our lives
To judge and not relive
But I think it's a sin
To not even think of
[To not even think of]

Behind the sacred walls I hid myself
I should tear them down
Because I can't be the only one
Who mourns at this repeat

Just save your words!
You don't know!
How could you try and tell me it's okay? !
People die, pain hurts
Death takes you away
And the truth in disguise
It's not okay
We lost the best of our lives

And if I could of kept him alive
I would've, I tried in disguise
But it's the secret of our lives
To judge and not relive
But I think it's a sin
To not even think of
[To not even think of]

Ohh, these scars on my skin
[I think it's a sin]
Beyond the torment of the skies
[I tried so hard in disguise]
The secret of our lives

[To judge and not relive]

And if I could of kept him alive
I would've but it was all just disguise
And in the mercy of our lives
We judge and not relive
But I think it's a sin
To not even think of
[To not even think of]
