To Euterpe
I have prayed to Euterpe,
For the gift, the ability,
For the special bliss,
Of writing startling lyric poetry!
Perhaps my plea has reached her,
Perhaps not at all,
Yet blunt endeavour is requisite,
Adjacent to the clandestine call.
Oh Euterpe! You have much,
Please bless me with a bit as such!
