To Death Poem by Susmit Panda

To Death

Rating: 3.0

I had heard a second would be your smite,
That what you are would drop in a moment's light;
That mortals be done in a grasp,
The steelest pain be in a clasp,
Out of oblivion our quick awe would quickly die,
But, my Fate! for hours and hours you are nearby;

There in all souls your countenance is stashed,
Sudden their gills would sudden be dashed,
But to my eyes you are so close,
So continuous, without repose,
When you would pierce rupturing your agony,
My Death! you shall not be a stranger to me;

There in no heart the sullenness reigns,
No blood hurls tampered through veins;
Their lives are darker than you,
Their strifes are starker than you,
Sudden to their ribs your worth would attend,
To me you would be heeled like a terrible friend;
