To Be A Kid Poem by Deci Hernandez

To Be A Kid

Rating: 5.0

There are no Mondays
Tuesdays are the weekend
And Sundays are a Friday

Oh to be enthralled
By gorging frybread
Pancakes in bed
Couches for beds
And bunkbeds at the cousins
Sweet dreams and to
Play all night instead

This is a week
There are yet 2
Months and someth'n left

In this season
Paradise is our guest

Bliss mixed with
Many sticky popsicle sticks
And many legs running
Lungs out of breath

We call this summer
3 months no less

Boys hanging with
The boys
He man woman hating

Girls can be annoying
Tease'em and can't ignore'em

Ingnoring the girls can be
Destroying

Know the enemy
Sleep well war and
Play tomorrow morning

Fishing the nights away
These Summers days
Will never change

Stars and Summer
Stories we'll never
Lose this kind o glory

Oh to be a kid
Summer vacations are
Best friend's best friends

Summer vacations can
Tare apart best friends

These Summer stories are
Happy ones with sad ends
Every Summer has an end
Oh to be a kid again

Never

Ever

Say

Never
