To All My Dearest Friends Poem by Don Nguyen

To All My Dearest Friends

All my dearest friends,

I hope I am not going to break down again while addressing you
As you have known that to me our house is always a special place
I treasure our friendship which will last forever
I hope all my new admirers realize our special bond
Not to get jealous, then cause a commotion
I know I have behaved badly
I have been proud, arrogant, conniving
However, I do treasure our true friendship
And I do respect all poets, younger and older, here and there
Who are most decent human beings with tremendous poet skill
In analyzing human deepest emotions in order to live them out
Who now have captured all my love and respect
My misjudgment in the past had formed clouds blocking the beautiful divine sunset
Which I am now trying to get it undone
so that the divine merits can be bestowed
I now and here have promised to be more tender
So let's now treat our renewed relationship
Not like a sunset but sunrise
For not many like sunset as I do.

Most tenderly,

Don
