Étincelles Pour Les Amoreaux Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

Étincelles Pour Les Amoreaux

Rating: 5.0

(dedicated to Ms. Liza Ferschtman, a gifted violinist)

mist upon silent hill
loneliness surrounds
solitude in dark thoughts
why all sparks have gone?

visions are vanished
into shadowy souls
spirits stood here
who love me?

hopes overshadow thee
the Spring night shall be bright
like drew-dropp from Seventh Haven
where will you take my fragile heart to?

a voice of trembling lips shakes solitary consciousness
darling, now comes all sweetness to your reddish love
eternity always intermingle in our distant horizon
why you don't strengthen these blurry eyes?

(inspired by Max Ernst's Une nuit d'amour)

Did the shaky lonely sense of isolation and separatiion end in a night of love? All the doubts and longing erased when your beloved came to her senses and connected with you? Just guessing. For some reason, Ahmad, with your depth and explosive mind and spirit, I cannot imagine that you would have to pine and beg for a single thing! Another intricate and subliminal journey. Thank you!
