Times In Retrospect Poem by meryl c. taylor

Times In Retrospect

All in time, is retrospect, subject to our own neglect. We stomp our foot, demand respect. Once time is spent, it's gone.
All in time, we may object
All use by others as suspect.
Some prance about but for affect.
Once time is spent, it's gone.
All in time, may have effect,
alas, there is no true project
of positive motive to disconnect.
Once time is spent, it's gone.
All in time, may still reflect
our responses to reject
what some decree we must protect.
Once time is spent, it's gone.
All in time, is retrospect,
subject to our own neglect;
not given to unearned respect...
once time is spent, it's gone.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
this dedicated too all of my friends who insist that wasted time, years, life, can be recaptured, somehow and to my children who desire to stay in teen years with the advantages of being an adult...doesn't work that way, sweetie!
