Timeless Poem by Barry Middleton

Timeless

time cannot be bought or bartered
time is free
a priceless gift
yet so many squander it

regret sets in
that I did not use this gift with care
that I worried about tomorrow
instead of embracing today

time is like a walk in a beautiful park
a master gardener tended it
the trees and grass and flowers
the perfect blue sky

time's current is like a quiet river
it runs past us
whether or not we notice
it flows until it finds the precipice
