Time Was Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Time Was

she perches
naked

upon wave
upon wave

of rock as if
a frozen sea

caught forever
in this

instant of seeing as
sunset silhouettes her

she lost
in time

her mind
touching the horizon

that only
a single seagull

dances above

hewn from an evening
made from memory.
