Time To Take The Top Off The Cookie Jar

Time heals old wounds....they say
Or are they just buried to rise again another day
Must we let these chains burden us so
And destroy our dreams so we can not grow
A prison term where shackles won't break
As we relive each one of our mistakes
We can not forget them...they are ours to claim
But we must learn and move on just the same
It's never to late to heal the scars
Time to take the top off the cookie jar

Lil sis, Thad got there before me about the metaphor of the cookie jar. Great message with this poem. We shouldn't dwell on our mistakes, just learn from them and pray we don't make the same ones again. Top marks and thanks for sharing this my friend. Big Bruv

Why do we, so often, insist to dwell on past mistakes long after we've been forgiven for them. A great write, a great message. Thanks Richard
