Time For Mom Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

Time For Mom

Time can be
A cruel, cruel thing
Can give you life
Take your dreams
You see so much
As you go your way
Pack so much in
Day after day
Loved ones come
Loved ones go
The heart locks them in
As you continue to grow
There's always a few
That forever cling
Your Mom is one
Its just a thing
We take for granted
The love that's given
Building our lives
Being constantly driven
Then one day
Mom is gone
The hurt stays with you
As you go along
Always thought
There'd be more time
Time for Mom
More happy times
Feel so sad
I never made amends
To the special woman
Who was more than a friend
Should have let
The little things go
Given her more time
Let her know
I love you Mom

Darn good poem Lawerence. Beautiful words. My mom lives with us at age 92; it's not easy seeing her slowly go down hill.

This is a wonderful poem! What a great tribute to your mom, and so well-written. Well done! I have two posted with similar sentiments: Sweet Sweet Peas and On Her Deafness.
