Time And Aging Poem by Frank Adie

Time And Aging

Time have ticked away my strength and grayed my hair
Brought winkles to my face and dimmed my eyes
My once retentive and photographic memory
Now struggles to recall incidences of yesterday
My daring teeth that could crush every bone,
Now suffers defeat from the feeblest flesh
My eyes that could behold object in the farthest horizon
Now strain to recognize objects just few inches away
My legs that could embark on a twenty kilometers walk
Now struggles to go just one
My ear that could once pick the tiniest sounds
Must now be strained to hear loud voices just around the corner
My dinner table that was always surrounded by my lovely kids
Has become a deserted board for just my wife and I
Time has taken away my strength
And has given me weakness
It has stolen my youth, and filled me with age
It has eroded my hopes, and filled me with despair
Time is a spoiler.
Time is a thief.
