Time Poem by David Wood

Time

Rating: 4.5

Tick tock, relentlessly
Echoing their tale.

Tick tock, the echo
Of their calling into the day.
Their information is
All they have for sale.

Tick tock, in railway waiting rooms,
Hospital waiting rooms and GP surgeries.
Time goes by second by second
Tick tock, the cry of the whale.

Tick tock, slowly, minute by minute
Hour by hour
Time passes slowly
Under their veil.

Tick tock. Men are governed, and
Businesses groan under its pressure:
Working to a deadline.
Pressure making you pale.

Tick tock, there is a time
For everything.
There is no time at all.
Pressure working under the sail.

Tick tock, the time cometh!
Time waits for no man.
Who can beat time?
That is the Holy Grail.

With each stanza the sound became louder and louder, fabulous how you wrap time around each line...I like this very much.....
