Time Poem by Leaking Pen

Time

“Who are you? ” Time asks me with a sigh,
And my family tree echoes with a loud cry!
I feel sick to my stomach and I feel blue…
I answer as I tremble: “I wish I knew.”
Then Time enters through my front doors
And barges on my uneven creaking floorboards,
And Time uncovers my many regrets
Those exceed my accumulated debts.
I have disappointed Time’s perfection
My rhythm & rhyme lack its Golden Section
The essence of Time’s balanced growth,
And this is Time’s truth and solemn oath.
Logic and emotion are Time’s key measures,
For a would be poet to uncover its hidden treasures,
Like a Bach’s first-rate compositions
Or Mozart’s divine musical intuitions
Mozart genius haunted Salieri,
I wish I was Antonio Salieri…
At least Salieri crossed path with a genius
And Salieri tried to be Mozart like, bold grace and ingenious
Is it not the journey that counts? I was once told,
Instead of stagnant dollar amounts mouldy and cold
Amassed in my secret bank vault?
That caused my spirit to die by default…
And the thorn in my flesh etc… and suddenly Time,
My Time stops and ends my rhythm and rhyme.
Would I be remembered after I am gone?
“No! Echoes from the valley down below, “No one…
And may God find mercy and honour my short poetic run,
After I am laid down beyond the light’s reach from the Sun.
