Inner Whispers

(May 25,2008 (d day this page was born) / Philippines)

! ! ! Timawa

Nakapangalumbaba...

dungaw ni Juan
tila malalim, malayo
malabo...
nasasagkaan
ng pader ng panghihinayang,
ng pag-asam...
ng tamis, ng pait
sa labi at mata'y
banaag ang malalim na pag-iisip!

isip niya'y naglalakbay
bukas...
ngunit walang maapuhap
sa dako ng kanyang pangarap!

yosi'y nauupos na
magkano na nga ba ang isa?
di namalayang nakaipit
sa nakapangalumbabang bisig!

Malamig na ang kape mo,
timawang JUan!

poet Walt Whitman

ARM’D year! year of the struggle!
No dainty rhymes or sentimental love verses for you, terrible year!
