Till Night Has Passed

Soon! When the testing night’s passed by
When sleeping souls arise
When heraldic trumpets sound on high
To life’s eternal prize

When death’s velvet drape is withdrawn
When hope, receives faith’s wings
Embracing life’s long welcomed dawn
While Heaven’s quire sings

Untold blessings will fall like rain
For saints standing the fight
Glory’s honour, each soul will gain
Adorned in liquid light

Will you or I receive such grace?
Miserably drenched in shame
Will we join those who’ll see God’s face
Believing Jesus’ name

I’ll need your help, perhaps you mine
Through gifts Heaven may share
Talents serving life’s bread and wine
Through Jesus everywhere

Looking up, around and within
Let spirit and truth survey
As you and I lay siege to sin
Along life’s chosen way

Reach out our hands, our voices high
For one another pray
For blind lost souls ceaselessly cry
Until the youngest day

The day when no more work is done
When books and doors lay wide
With or without God’s Lamb, God’s Son
Beyond the great divide.....
