Til I Come Home Poem by john mylius

Til I Come Home

Darkness is falling, Twilight surrounds,
Illumination from the small town lights,
Spread out far below on the ground
The clouds are dark and heavy
In the distant horizon's glow
Above a thin line, a little sunlight
Burning like the flame that we all know

How long will it be til the light of a brand new sky
How many more nights til I can't go on
How long will it be til I lay down and close my eyes
How long til I come home.........Til I come home

Looking out at the sunset
Looking out at the morning dew
Looking at a dark stormy day
And I'm thinking about how much I love you
I'm thinking about some trying times
You know that we've been through
I think they're gonna work out fine
We'll see what we can....We can do....

How long will it be til the light of a brand new sky
How many more nights til I can't go on
How long will it be til I lay down and close my eyes
How long til I come home....Til I come home

Looking out at the world go by
You know it's turning fast
Every day time grows a little bit shorter
We can't make it last
There we stood in the darkness
Scared and all alone
Looking for some kind of an answer
Some kind of a place that we could call our own

How long will it be til the light of a brand new sky
How many more nights til I can't go home
How long will it be til I lay down and close my eyes
How long, til I come home......Til i come home
