Til' Death Do Us Part Poem by Seairra Kyger

Til' Death Do Us Part

Sidewalks get closer
She watches them slip by
From the end of them
And all the nights she cried
She knew this couldn’t be planned
She walked on paths
He said she'd never walk
But she took one wish as she closed her eyes
She wished on all the stars that were up in the sky

The vows where then traded
And instead she got lies
The promises now nearly faded
But what was ever the worth of fool's gold
He said that this hurt him so
But in the back of her mind
It was never debated
The thought of a way to escape her new fate
He can see though her words but he can’t read her face

'Just walk with me
Through lightning filled rain
I'll take all the strikes
absorb all the pain
I know that your there
you’re all that remains
Don't give me a reason
To turn back from this now
Just give me your hand
I'll trade you a heart
Of a sad broken doll
Til' death do us part'

She stitches on a smile
Everything’s ok
Until the stool falls
And the rope tightens it all away
She smiles one last time
As the memories fade
One last victory
On the bed she leaves a simple note
Never hurt someone who can tie a rope

He suppose that he thought
His lies were an art
Now the vows are all broken
Til' death do us part
