Tibetan Refugee Poem by Ananta Madhavan

Tibetan Refugee

He waits for customers
For his hand-crafted trinkets
And ornaments, chains;
His high-boned face is flat,
His beads dangle brightly
From the rafters of his shack.

Glint-less, the beads of his eyes.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A poet waits for readers, though people do not
require poems; the refugee trader of trinkets was
for me analogous.
