Thunder Of Silence Poem by Sanjay Mehta

Thunder Of Silence

Beckoned
With
Sounds
So loud.
Riveted,
Attention
Couldn't arouse.

Beckon
With silence
On pedestal
Alight
For the thunder in silence
Rivets
Flushes the mind.

Observe
The attention silence commands
A pregnant lady
In trance
Whose silent conversation
With a soul unknown
Unaware of the decibels around which galore.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

One poet said, Even Silence is silent and you give a portrait of the thunderous silence. The reference to the pregnant arouses only a technical difficulty, . What is her prime concern? ..

Sir, pregnant women has been used as an symbol, for the mode and medium of conversation between the lady and the unknown soul is through the medium of silence and to me it appeared to be very powerful and effective mode. the conversation appears to be perfect, constructive, to the point and above all brings joy not only to those conversing but also to the surroundings. This is contrary to the conversation as mentioned is stanza 1. So the point raised by you about 'her prime concern', it is not her prime concern but OUR prime concern. I thank you for going into the minute details, I hope I have been able to justify myself. Thank you again Sir.
