Throwing Rose Petals On The Loss Of Fame Poem by Paul Amrod

Throwing Rose Petals On The Loss Of Fame

Rating: 5.0

Throwing rose petals on the loss of fame
Keeping in remembrance the golden days
When inspiration wasn't an oasis in a maze of chaos
Searching for our muse in some lost flame
Keeping our sanity amidst a peddler's séance
Reaching into a lost composer's cakewalks
Where the musicology decided the score
would not withstand the toil of time
or a poet who lost his sense of rhyme.
The open airs with a special glimmer
have left us all as the lights grew dimmer.
So we throw rose petals on the loss of fame
Digging deep inside for our God-given talent
which we nurtured with dedication boundlessly
hours on end with the search for perfection.
Was it a moment of bliss where the bird of paradise
came for a visit with a melodious phrase sung so preciously?
The anecdotes of the critics was a charming confection
which brought sweetness to the endurance of self-sacrifice.
However being consequent about the realms of heroes
we treasure the moments of pleasure and reflection.
Being connected with Apollo's breath of a flamingo
symbolizing the wing on a prayer while creating so bounteously.
In our memory lies a forgotten struggle as the wind blows
out of the north challenging our senses to an angel's advice.
The ultimate defeat we have evaded with our present station.
Avoiding the lack of recognition with only the luck of the lyric
to tickle the fancy of a realm of admirers who have somehow vanished.
How gorgeous to reminisce how their eyes and ears did cherish.
Do bless the souls who have shone adoration and true appreciation
without remorse or bitterness leaving this to halls of the horrific.
Having moved the souls of listeners and readers is the gift we gave
Throwing rose petals on the loss of fame
Hoping for the wonders of the return to the stages auspiciously
presenting our art with sincerity exhilarating all to a standing ovation.
