Throw Away The Key Poem by Hannah Shier

Throw Away The Key

I'm locked in this room of silence.
No one can hear me.

You?
No, not even you.

No one can hear me.

Parents?
No.

Friends?
No.

Peers, leaders, teachers, guiders, counselors -
No.

I cry out.
It goes unheard.

I weep.
It's ignored.

I scream, I shout - Why can't you hear me? !

Please!
Someone!
I don't want to be here anymore!
It's so dark!
Please, help me!

But you won't.
You can't.

Why?

Because I'm locked in a room of silence.

You've locked me in a room of silence.

I've locked myself in a room of silence.
