Through My Child's Eyes Poem by ShellyBean Stanowski

Through My Child's Eyes

Wide-eyed wonderment
newly discovered things
Curiosity brimming
natures glorious spring

Her silent promises
discoveries are shouted
Fairies and Prince Charming
she has never doubted

Giggling adventures
escape from her rosy lips
Butterflies follow closely
with each eternal skip

Patches of dandelions
weeds are all I can see
Flowers for my mommy
and wishes she shouts with glee!

The wind blows furiously
I worry about my hair
She spreads her dainty arms
taking flight into the air

Her eyes seem to sparkle
even as the clouds form
Jumping without abandonment
perhaps there will be a storm!

As my worries start to consume
I begin to take things for granted
'Til I see the world as she does
who has my heart so enchanted.
