Three Kings Poem by Ivona Sophia

Three Kings

Rating: 4.1

They knocked on my door. In the middle of the night.
There were three. Three old men with long beards.
Disguised bums that were tired and cold. They brought junk.
Gold, myrrh, and incense.
A star led them to my door. A miracle has happened.
That is what they said. They bowed and nodded their heads.
A miracle had never happened here before
(except for maybe one
when the neighbor’s dog came back from the dead
and devoured his own tail.)
The snow covered everything. They stayed.

We sit here
At the table
Drinking beer
The four of us playing bridge.

I don't care for poetry that leaves me with a sick feeling and this does. Poetry is meant to be Enjoyed one way or another and this wasn't one of them
