Three Households Poem by Abdulrasheed Dawodu

Three Households

The Blind
We only hear of the wonders
In our universe
How can we imagine the day
When we are stuck in the night
But if only we could see
The brightness of the sun
In our endless night
We would follow His way

The Deaf
These trees surely do make sound
These lips surely do speak
Does the river reverberate at all?
If only we could hear
A word, just a word
They utter
In our usual quiet moment
We would ammend our flaws
And follow His way.

The Blind and Deaf
Is there a moon that shines so bright?
Is there a night that darkens so deep?
Are there lips that utter vague words?
In our endless quiet moments
In our endless nights
We have hearts that feel
His endless Mercy
As we remain grounded
On His path

You
