Thoughts In The Shadows Poem by Octavious Harper

Thoughts In The Shadows

Rating: 4.5

Every night before I go to bed,
I find many thoughts flowing
through my head.

I think about the present and
the past, and how my childhood
never last.

I think about the pain I feel inside,
like a lion cast out from the pride,
and when I was younger and
always cried, and how month
after month many died, but
all I could do was sit and sigh.

I think about what people see
in me, a empty shell or a
endless sea, or am I average
just as he, that I hope I will
not be.

I think about the freedom I
wish to attain, which cannot
be won until this world
is slain, yet many people
think this is vain, at lease
I know I am still sane.

These are some thoughts to
name a few, that cover my
mind like morning dew, I
hope my thoughts can relate
to you, I hope these thoughts
can be so true.
