Thoughts Poem by Harrison Bishop

Thoughts

Purple room,
Brown carpet,
Spinning desk chair,
In front of me,
My thoughts are on her...
Blue sheets,
T.V and PS3,
White cube,
Right next to me,
All my thoughts are on her...
Stick bag,
Cricket bat,
My trusty guitar,
Are all I need
But I'm thinking of her...
A pair of shorts,
My sneakers,
My duffle bag,
On the floor near me,
As my thoughts are on her

She could be so many things, a metaphor for desire, woman, prize or possession. A great narrative, descriptive and eloquent, succinct in form with the proposition of temptation and the realization that with love all else is sufficient and in itself fulfillment. Beautiful work.
