Thou Shalt Not Procrastinate Poem by William Chaplar

Thou Shalt Not Procrastinate

Rating: 4.5

You feel like a fool 'cause tomorrow in school is a test in U.S. History.
You open your book, but it soon starts to look like it's all just one big mystery.
You pull out your phone, call your friend up at home, and ask her if she understands.
But she's clueless too, and so now you two need to make some quick test-cramming plans.
When you get to her place, the look on her face says the night's gonna be pretty long.
So you turn on the pot, 'cause the coffee has got to be plentiful and extra strong.
But you holler "enough! " when you realize this stuff about who did what, where, when and why
Is just too intense. You both therefore commence to start making up an alibi.
If you only play sick, it might just do the trick and help you get out of this mess.
You'll get a few days, and things should be okay after you've taken that make-up test.
But your alarm rings, and soon everything starts going drastically downhill.
'Cause your mom is hip and says, "You might be sick, but off to school you're going still."
When you get to your seat, you acknowledge defeat, then you let out an audible groan.
And then through the door walks the sub you adore who tells you the test is postponed.
She relates that last night the teacher took flight off to Las Vegas to tie the knot.
And close by his side was his blushing bride; a teacher named Miss Endicott.
So you got through this one but there's no time for fun, 'cause you need to start cracking the books.
And you better crack hard, because your report card is a thing your folks won't overlook.
So show some concern for this lesson you've learned, which is "Thou Shalt Not Procrastinate."
Keep studying strong, and it won't be too long until that day when you graduate.
