Those Who Write Poetry Poem by Kyle Schlicher

Those Who Write Poetry

Rating: 5.0

those who write poetry
do so,

even though there are
those who wonder
why bother?

we write even though
the odds are

no one will ever
take the time
to read
what we write.

let alone understand
what we choose to write

or even
the very reason
we must write it
in the first place

regardless
of all the above.

Do people who play golf have such thoughts about their sport? Do people who like motorcycles wonder about their choice of avocation? How about scuba divers - seconds thoughts about what other people think? But if you read - and write poetry! So, your poem is meaningful to all of us touched by the Muse who MUST write our poems. Your poem does not offer any advice or solution concerning this dilemma. I think that's wise on your part. We are a small group of like-minded poetry lovers. It's best we build up a sense of solidarity with each other, and your poem will have that effect on its who harbor this avocation. Just wait! In heaven the angels ARE LISTENING, applauding us and saying to each other, I can't wait until they're HERE, giving readings to all of us ANGELS.

Quite funny, with the Muse who Must - artistic inspiration for the angles entertainment; I trust, and agree They hear everything.

I would have just said, yeah... write on, but there's a minimum comment word limit. Nice.

Poetry is nothing but spontaneous flow of emotions expressed by a sensitive mind through words. We write poems for the same. Our primary aim remains deriving joy/ happiness and self satisfaction. The appreciation part is secondary. Genuine questions raised in the poem. Thanks for sharing.
