This Side Jordan Poem by George Capron

This Side Jordan

I think of the time I must languish here
I ask why should I leave this sphere?
I move about on this mortal plain
Hoping, Wishing there was something to gain.

I know the world's not fair
Hot and Humid without any breeze
Surrounded by a world of sleaze
Time has come, for us to take charge,
Lest we go to hell on this foul barge.

Given to us before there was strife
Caught in it the rest of our life
Its time to leave this untidy mess
Away from this world to face my west
Hoping on hope that God will bless.
