This Love Poem by Laura Lambden

This Love

I look at you and love fills my heart.
No. Not my heart -
my whole being, every cell of me,
suffused with love for you.
But it hurts, this love;
it is too big for me.
I am too small a vessel to hold this much;
I feel I am stretching,
my skin ready to tear and split,
there is so much love within me.
I will burst with it.

It hurts, this love I have,
but oh! In such a wonderful way!
