This Is My Story Poem by Joyce Hemsley

This Is My Story

Goodbye dearest one
this is my song
deep in my heart
your memory lives on.

November night is morbid and dark
not even a song from the lark;
no street lamp to light my way
and today has been a mysterious day.

This night is a night full of tears,
Chopin's Sonata falls on my ears.
Heaven has taken my Steven away;
Mozart's requiem plays night and day.

The notes seem sombre and drear
no moonglow in the stratosphere,
no starlight shining from above,
because so sadly I have lost my love.

Goodbye dearest one
this is my song
deep in my heart
your memory lives on.
