This Is My Religion Version 2 Poem by Paula Glynn

This Is My Religion Version 2

Of all the religions in this world,
I follow my own,
I am my own Buddha,
I am my own God,
My own Greek god or goddess,
My beliefs are my own,
And I follow my heart,
I respect myself,
And those around me,
I work hard everyday,
To be the best person I can be,
And to be kind and compassionate,
Because I have my own,
Yellow brick road to follow.

I reach for the stars,
To guide me home,
But this home is not a house:
It is a place in my heart,
Where I find myself,
And find love,
So I can wrap my arms,
Around the world,
For there may be only one of me,
But I reside in all souls,
I make this world matter,
And heal all wounds.

This heart is full of love,
I do not lie or betray,
I comfort those in pain,
I make the mad sane.
I hug the children,
And let them speak,
For they are the people,
Of the future,
They are the heart of this earth,
And everyone has worth,
For I place a nugget of gold,
Into every heart that beats with love.
