This Gift Poem by Emily Javins

This Gift

This Gift

Some may say it's a gift
A gift to be
Different
Special
Extrodnary
But do you know what it really is
It is a curse
A curse that
Turns you into a laugh stock
No control over you body
Your mind to old for your age
The urge to fight
The urge to come back
The urge to put a fake smile on
This is not a gift like everyone says
It is a curse
And I feel bad for anyone who has it
To know more sad then happiness
To feel more fear then peace
To see more hurt then joy
To hear more cries of pain the laughter of kids playing
This curse makes you scared for your life
In the eyes of the beholder of this 'gift'
There is no safe place in this world
So the people that say this knowing beyond the years is a gift
Is wrong this knowing beyond the years is a curse
A curse that can not be broken even by true loves kiss
The only way to break this curse is to be taken to death
The curse to know more then your age should you know
Is not a gift
It is pain in worst from yet

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Well.....This Gift is one of my peoms I written in the middle of the night. I beleive I have this so called 'gift' that....well gives you more then what a normal person needs at this age. I call it a curse cause for me...I see death and pain and mental unstabality. And yes their may be stuff wrong (like spelling) but hey the middle of the night? Give me some slack.
