This Bloke Does Waffle On Poem by Francis Duggan

This Bloke Does Waffle On

In the Human World most seen as successful know how to use propaganda and spin
To lie to them comes very easily lying to some is never a sin
Yet many of the wealthy and famous go to the church of their choosing to pray
Though without saying so their God it is money they are not how they seem one might say
So many into self promotion by love of self they are inspired
Of singing their own praises to others they never do seem to grow tired
I cannot say that I admire them or I cannot say them I despise
That self promotion is good for the ego of late I have come to realize
I am not into self promotion perhaps in my own way I am small
That I'll never be wealthy or famous does not bother me one bit at all
The lust for fame and power and money for centuries has been the in thing
'Tis not of the praise of a pauper that anyone bothers to sing
All I want to now is live and let live since my better days in life are long gone
And some who read my doggerel verses might say this bloke does waffle on.
