Thinking About You Poem by George Hunter

Thinking About You

Rating: 4.5

Here I sit
Alone and lonely
Thinking of
My one and only.
She's been gone
Away from here
Thirteen, if it's been a year.
Think I'll have another beer.

But it's a very wrong belief
That such will offer much relief.
Guess time alone
Will heal the grief.

It's also a mistaken notion
To think that this side of the ocean
One can recall the good times we had
And just forget about the bad.
Bittersweet memories are so sad.

She's gone to a better place?
I will say to my disgrace.
This was our one and only chance
To have that great wordrous romance.

So each day, as you try to greet
The past, the bitter with the sweet
Clutch those memories so dear
And forget about that other beer.

Such a deep and poignant write, George, Its true not all meories recalled are sweet But with some bitterness mixed is - Sad Is our heart when we think of those days Unthinking, which we wasted away - Days, Which we would have made more happy If only we knew we would be thinking Of them, now, alone! My heartfelt sympathies. A great poem which makes one think and leaves us sadder still at heart. Angel
