Think Poem by Shruti Goswami

Think

I don’t think about you at all
But sometimes when it rains,
And then when the sun shines
Down a bit too much,
When the clouds come floating
With a smear of sunbeam that touch,
The sky or the horizon of my mind,
I think of you.

When the thoughts come and go,
Like brilliant flashes of lightning
Trying to escape the blue
Come surging through
And kiss the earth with dew.

I don’t think about you at all,
But when the night falls
Silently, stealthily
Or dawn breaks like a soul
That yearns for love,
When the dusk sets with a sweet smile
Amidst fading skies
And the stars they lit up effortlessly,
Like sparkling wine,
Your thoughts creep in,
Like birds returning home
After a long flight
To where they belong.

And I feel determined
As I lay wrapped in thoughts
Not to think of you again
Like I do everyday.
