Things You Say Poem by Dominic Isaia

Things You Say

Elephants twirl on the sunset waters
Red flowers sing to the mushroom daughters

Cucumbers dance a little jig
The farmer feeds the little pig

An echo bounces off a wall
A train that slows down to a crawl

A violin player plucks a string
A Canadian bird flaps a wing

An ice cube that refuses to melt
A winning card that was almost dealt

The man in the hat, you don't want to meet
Running the wrong way on a one way street

Half asleep and half woken up
Until your dreams get broken up

Things you say
The things you say
I don't get
The things you say
