They Were Puppets Poem by Govind Ramakrishnan

They Were Puppets

Rating: 3.9

This distorting
And supposedly
Impervious media
Has finally
Been stripped naked

Each network
Put in its place,
By a new genre
Of handshakers,
Who say it
As they see it

Marking the end
Of an era,
Where media-lords
Reveled in
Manipulating
These baby kissers,
As though
They were puppets

On the other hand, candidates who belittle the so-called lame-stream media also depend on the media to gain an audience. They are making anti-media hay under the media limelight. I like your use of terms like /handshakers/ and /baby-kissers/.
