They Remain Memories Poem by Gary Dobbs Morgan

They Remain Memories

They remain memories

They remain memories
only i can recall
only i can download
from past excursions

They live as they did
Not one moment older
Vivid, clear, sharp
dulled as they don't talk
coming from my mind
they are mute.

Moments, longer moments
stories of my past
experiences to be relived
and relived in the present,

No need to go back
No need to see the present
They are moments
built into
part of my pyramid,

Yet they are fleeting
and that feels okay,
today is fleeting
tomorrow is fleeting
i am now
