These Words I Say Poem by Lydia Shivley

These Words I Say

These words I say, you've herd them before
These words I say, don't seem to matter any more
They lifted you up when you was down
They was your light in your darkest hours
They sometimes sounded like lies, but believe me they were all true.
Those words of, ... I love you.
I've said them so many times
and hushed your cries
When you said them back it meant the world to me, but you don't say them any more.
Yes it's true those words aren't enough to show your love.
It's the things you do and the time we spend
Even though we spend hours doing nothing
Those hours was always something, when you are in them with me.
These words I say, You've herd them before
These words I say, don't matter any more.
These words I say, that kept us together for so long
Those words were wasted
Those words never mattered
My heart is tattered,
And so, those words I said, will never again be spoken, ...but there still in my head.
