These Poems And These Words Poem by Shalom Freedman

These Poems And These Words

These poems and these words
These names and these bitter things
Mean so much less
Than the actual feeling of this life
Whose endlessly varied sensations
Puzzle and thrill us each day
Making life always far beyond ourselves
And deep within us
As God should and must be
If we are not to die.
