These Are My Dreams Poem by Luce Darwin

These Are My Dreams

I can't stop dreaming;
I'm starting to believe
it is my fatal flaw.

Staring at you while you're driving,
watching your eyes
as you avoid dangers,
keeping us both safe.

Lying through my teeth
when asked if I felt for you
while staring into the circled patterns
in my bubble gum hands.

I dream of seeing you at the empire state
leaning over the edge
waiting for me
to call your name.

I need the foot notes to this story,
it's getting especially difficult to read
since you very bluntly
started to rewrite and add your own lines.

I can't stop dreaming;
I'm starting to believe
it is my fatal flaw.
